While playing in any online poker room you have to interact with different player on the same table. Each player possesses a particular style. A beginner might get amazed by the names of such players. They are calling station, rock, maniac, shark etc. Its not like all style are bad few are good too but sometimes they get slipped inside the bad shadow and then your job should be to save your bankroll from such players. It is to be learned by every poker player to know how to trap such style of players and enjoy your stay in the game with less hassle.
Now let’s have a look at player’s type one by one –
Loose passive players or Calling Station: These players are with almost no action in the game and want others to clear the path for them. They call at any pair. Such players try to remain in the game until the show down and are the witness of number of flops. One trick is there to tackle such players is to value bet with high hands .This will let them to be in the game for a log time chasing with their weak hands. Don’t try to bluff with them as it is worthless.
The Maniac:
As the name suggest this player is so passionate to raise a bit extra and hungry to play many hands. Beware of these players because some times it is very challenging to deal with them while playing any hand. There is no question to play out of position until you have a better and much big hand in your account. Pass the time till you have big hands after a while let them enter into your territory to bet. They tend to call on frequently at big draws.
The Shark:
you may have an aspiration to be a player like the shark. No one can get sense of such players mind. They are aggressive players who are in search of right time till they earn big hands which become their weapons for this hard battle of Texas holdem. Try to stay away from these players. Make sure you have got good position at the time of flop if you really want to cross the way of shark players.
The Rock:
They are really as hard as rock and are only there to play best hands. Here it is a suggestion not to play with them until you are not having good hands otherwise the ball will be in their court.
The Fish:
They are like a bud of flower which is about to blossom in the spring. And are in-experienced players with limited amount of knowledge. Fish players get indulged in playing many hands and are ready to call at the river with more or less every pair. You have a chance here to play against them having big hands.
Whenever you are playing no matter on the internet or live in any casino, a deep study of all such player is always advantageous for you. Once you gain knowledge about them no one can stop you to steal chips out of their pockets. So keep playing and studying Texas Holdem.
